HIGH ABOVE is proud to be the first fitness studio to bring aerial yoga classes to the Waikato.
We provide the original and best form of aerial yoga from AntiGravity Fitness. This involves using a waist height hammock to perform a series of exercises and is famous for its decompression sequence. We also offer Aerial Hoop also know as Lyra and conditioning classes using the hammocks.
Aerial Yoga (Casual Class)
This is the perfect option for someone either looking to begin aerial yoga class or wanting a gentle practice. During this introductory aerial yoga class, you’ll learn the correct grip and wraps as well as the fundamental techniques of AntiGravity. You will become comfortable with inversions and will experience the zero-compression inversion, which aerial yoga is known for.Level: All welcome, including absolute beginners
What to wear: Top with sleeves. No zips on clothing or jewellery to be worn. Socks are compulsory.

Aerial Yoga Release & Restore (Casual Class)
Aerial Yoga Release & Restore is designed to improve mobility, restore tired muscles from injury and aid sports recovery. The 60 minute slow flowing class is specifically designed to increase body movement and release muscle tension.This technique also features the full body inversions which Antigravity is famous for.
Level:. Beginners
Prerequisite: None suitable for all levels

Aerial Hoop Level One (6 Week Course)
During this course, you will learn fundamental tricks, poses as well as how to enter and dismount the hoop safely. Designed for absolute beginners, this course focuses on strength and conditioning for aerial hoop, designed to develop strong upper body, back and core muscles and body awareness.Prerequisite: Suitable for beginners, we do recommend sufficient upper body strength to hold full body weight and ideally able to complete one pull up prior to attending this course.
What to wear: Leggings, long sleeves and socks.

Aerial Conditioning (casual class)
Aerial Conditioning is a strength based class using the aerial hammock. Utilising body weight and the added dimension of the hammock, it’s a fun alternative to traditional strength and conditioning training. We guarantee you will get a workout in this aerial fitness class. Each series of exercises come with progression so you can work at your own level.Prerequisite: Suitable for beginners, we do recommend you have attended aerial yoga class prior however this is not essential.
What to wear: No jewellery or zips on garments. We recommend Leggings and top with sleeves. Socks are compulsory
